Purpose of the Role:
To plan, organize, and manage all aspects of Human Resource requirements in stores and warehouses efficiently and effectively to meet short-term and long-term business objectives.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage the employee life cycle process for store and warehouse employees.
  • Enable sourcing and hiring of CSAs, apprentices, contractual employees, and store management team.
  • Ensure required manpower is hired for new stores as per the plan and inducted as per the process.
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations through audits and store manager education.
  • Ensure contract workmen are hired, paid, and managed as per applicable contract labor laws by the concerned service providers.
  • Drive awareness of the Code of Conduct and POSH in stores to ensure a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Attend to grievances from stores and distribution centers (DCs), ensuring timely redressal through counseling and escalating where necessary.
  • Oversee manpower count and costs for assigned stores and educate store managers on productivity metrics.
  • Partner with the business to roll out and effectively implement productivity improvement initiatives at stores and warehouses.
  • Drive the performance management process in DCs through periodical reviews and performance improvement plans.
  • Actively manage the careers of DC employees through career development programs and assessments to build the talent and succession pipeline.
  • Drive training adoption through digital, virtual instructor-led, and on-the-job training programs to ensure capable teams in stores and warehouses.

Knowledge / Education:

  • Minimum Graduate, PGDM, or MBA in HR desirable.
  • Must have 5-6 years of experience in Retail HR Operations along with regional language expertise managing on-roll and off-roll employees.
  • Experience in recruitment, on-boarding, training, and performance management.
  • Knowledge about the regional retail market and local labor laws.
  • Experience in managing industrial relations is desirable.
