Job Description:

The Walt Disney Company (Corporate) is seeking a Sr. Application Security Engineer for a 12-month project hire placement, with no guarantee of permanent placement. Responsibilities:

• Perform security assessments and code audits
• Develop new automation and tooling to improve detection & prevention capabilities and increase operational efficiency
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to the organization’s long-term security strategy by researching and recommending new technologies and best practices
• Evangelize and drive adoption of new or improved tools, practices, and plans to increase product robustness and reliability

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity organization or software engineering role with an interest in security
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, software, electrical, or electronics engineering, or comparable field of study
• Good understanding of web and mobile application security processes (cloud security knowledge is a plus)
• Experience in application development (web, mobile, API) and/or scripting (Python, Perl, PowerShell, Yara)
• Ability to validate findings discovered by tooling
• Experience with application penetration testing is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and curiosity to learn
• Ability to collaborate across functions

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this remote position is $117,998 to $182,050 per year, with consideration for various geographic regions. The actual base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional benefits, including bonuses and/or long-term incentive units, will be provided as part of the compensation package, along with full medical, financial, and other benefits.
