Job Description:

The Senior Business & Systems Analyst role involves identifying, analyzing, developing, and supporting system changes to enterprise applications within the Pension, Payroll & Employee Benefits Division. This position ensures innovation, compliance, and system maintenance through various support mechanisms. Additionally, it provides strategic, financial, and technical support to critical operational initiatives related to pay, pension, and employee benefit processing for City of Toronto employees and retirees.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate teams for developing and maintaining enterprise applications
  • Implement solutions within scope, time, and budget
  • Manage procurement of technical resources
  • Determine requirements for process changes
  • Assist with budget development and governance meetings
  • Develop metrics and benchmarks for key business processes
  • Maintain and support divisional system landscape
  • Develop project documentation and plans
  • Perform system analysis activities and provide work direction
  • Retrieve and analyze data for reporting purposes
  • Liaise with technical resources and operational software vendors
  • Develop new techniques to enhance system functionality
  • Provide advice and guidance to the division on system usage
  • Act as a point of contact for various corporate initiatives

Key Qualifications:

  • Considerable technology implementation & sustainment experience
  • Post-secondary education in relevant fields or equivalent experience
  • Experience with project documentation and procurement activities
  • Experience in pension, payroll, benefits, and/or time & attendance processing
  • Familiarity with relevant systems such as SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, and UKG Kronos/Workforce Pro
  • Ability to provide work direction, training, and support to staff
  • Familiarity with creating business and system processes
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in sensitive matters
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
