We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential assistance to patients in various healthcare settings. Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and eating.
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature.
- Follow care plans to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
Skills:
- Previous experience in home care or healthcare settings preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with care plans and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Practical training certificate for manual handling.
- Practical Training for Basic Life Support.
- Valid Driving Licence.
- Training in Dysphasia, Epilepsy, Learning Disability, Mental Health Awareness, Safe Swallowing, PICA, Makaton, Autism, Buccal, Midazolam, and Medicine Administration Level 2.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
