Job Summary:
The Department for Transport (DfT) is seeking a Lead Digital Assurance Officer to join their Digital Services Team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the department’s digital and technology spend aligns with the Spend Control framework and other relevant cross-government standards and policies. You will provide advice, guidance, and influence to senior stakeholders across the department, lead a team of digital assurance officers, and oversee the review and assessment of digital and technology spend proposals and business cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply cross-government spend controls processes to DfT’s digital, data, and technology projects and initiatives.
  • Guide project plans to ensure compliance with the Digital Service Standard (DSS) and the Technology Code of Practice (TCOP).
  • Act as the main point of contact between the Cabinet Office (CO) and DfT for spend control assurance.
  • Collate and analyze data on spend assurance, ensuring risk levels and tolerance are understood and communicated.
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with key stakeholders, including the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO).

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the government’s digital and technology spend controls process.
  • Experience applying the Spend Control process in a digital environment.
  • Line management experience and ability to provide a team approach for customers.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to exploit them.
